Okay, so i rigged a small forum game for us in the past 3 days (no bragging intended ;D)
We'll need at least 5 volunteers to test it.
Here are the rules:
Backgorund story
Guess what's happened! You got a work? No. You got a girl/boyfriend? No. You got out of detoxication? Not yet. Then what?
A zombie-apocalypse! (surprised, huh?)
You and some other people managed to get into a safehouse before too late. But one or more of you is infected and everyone's life is in danger.
1. Setting
X players, X*0,2 (rounded up) infected, same number of players sick
With 5 players in game, there are 5*0,2=1 infected and 1 sick personnel int he safehouse.
If we have 12 players, we have 12*0,2=2,4 -> 3 infected and 3 sick players.
Sick and infected players must cough 5 times every 2 days.
Infected players turn in an unspecified number of days.
Sick players don't turn, they are not infected with the zombie-virus, just plain sick.
Infected and sick playerss will be choosen randomly and will be notified in a PM.
There are X/2-1 (rounded up) rooms in the safehouse with random items (e.g.: darts board, fridge, etc)
So if there are 5 players, then there are 5/2 (=2,5) -1=1,5 -> 2 rooms.
In case of 12 players, the number of rooms is 12/2 (=6) -1=5 .
2. How the game runs
Day
During the day, you engage in various activities (e.g.: talk, quarell, play games, drink, etc) and looking for signs of infection on your fellow survivors.
Please note again, that sick and infected players must cough 5 times every 2 days.
Evening
At the end of the day, each player – according to their inspections during the day - casts votes of who shall leave the safehouse. The player getting most votes is evicted. Regardless of being infected or not, evicted personnel will almost surely die so if you are outside the safehouse it’s GAME OVER for you (sorry).
In case of a tie, the person to leave will be determined randomly.
Night
Before going to sleep, you have to choose which room would you like to sleep in.
If an infected person’s time is up, he or she turns into a zombie and attacks anyone in the same room.
That person hase 40% chance of killing the zombie and 40% chance of getting infected in the process. If the kill fails, you have to roll again for both the kill and the infection. Then all the other players are alarmed and rush into the room to dispatch the zombie and they have to roll for the kill and the infection too.
Infection is undetectable for other palyers.
Because of the lack of heating, every player has a slight chance to get sick.
The remaining survivors – if there are any (haha) – then start a new day.
3. Attributes
Player characters have to choose ONE of the following attributes:
Muscular Body[/color] – You have 60% chance of killing the zombie, 20% chance of getting infected by the zombie
Perception – You can reveal 2 players if they are infected or not (only the player with this atttribute will know the result, it will be PMed)
Persuasive: Your vote counts double
4. Sample game
Alex, Beth, Clair, Dexter, Evan , Francis, Gordon and Helen manage to get in a safehouse.
During the day, they talk , quarell, drink beer, etc.
Alex and Beth cough all day.
So in the evening, they decide who should leave.
Variation ’A’
Evan has perception and sees that Beth is infected.
The votes are the following:
Alex: 6
Beth: 5
Poor Alex gets kicked and dies. Beth stays in and sleeps with Clair and Dexter (I mean in the same room)
During the night, Beth turns into a zombie and attacks Clair and Dexter.
Clair fails to kill the zombie, the players have no idea whether she’s infected or not.
Dexter is muscular, so he has increased chance of killing the zombie. Still, we don’t know whether he’s infected or not.
Variation ’B’
Evan has perception and sees that Beth is infected.
The votes are the following:
Alex: 6
Beth: 5
Alex is persuasive and influences the vote in his favor:
Alex: 6
Beth: 6
Now it’s a tie, so fortune determines that Beth has to leave.
Nothing happens during the night.
The game ends if there are no infected players left (you will be notified).
